Stages and treatments-mesothelioma cancer

Around the world it is being researched that there are over three thousand people who are suffering from mesothelioma cancers. The treatments are available in the field of medicine to treat the cancer and of course the rate of the success of the treatment depends upon the stage of the cancer growth in the body. The stage one is classified as the initial stage of the cancer where patients have several options for curing the cancer and physicians suggest based on the health condition, situation and needs of the patients.

This is the first stage and the cancer might or might not have spread to the other regions of the human body. If it is not yet spread than effective surgical procedure can be performed to remove the tumor cells in the body. If it have spread then EPP, the critical method of surgery can be performed which involves the removal of lungs along with its linings.

This is the next growth level of the cancer cells where the cancer cells that have been intercepted in lungs or abdomen start invading the other organs in the body that includes heart or lymphatic system once it is diagnosed. Although the option of surgery shows up little positive response at the stage two but when the cancer cell attains the stage three in its growth and metastasis the option of surgery is not all viable. The only available option is treating the cancer cells rather than curing the cancer cells.

As like in the stage two treatments like radiotherapy and chemotherapy is given to the patient as it prevents the further growth of the metastasis. Although it looks an effective option the problem here is that the highly energized radiation when treated to other organs where the density of the tumor is less will affect those organs. In fact IMRT is recommended to minimize the level of energy of the radiation.

As obviously this is a stage where the growth of the tumor cells have been extensive where it would have spread to the other regions of the human body affecting various organs in the body. As the stage two increases the level of spaghetti involved in treating the cancer the option available for curing the cancer is also scarce. Although performing a surgery removes the tumor cells, it is impossible at this stage as it have attained the stage of metastasis.

Henceforth oncologists generally never recommend surgical option and moreover the success rate of the treatment in this stage is also very less. Due to these grievances in treating the stage two cancer the doctors generally recommend chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Of course these two cannot cure the cancer but it is obtained to treat the cancer where the life expectancy of the patient is being increased as it prevents the further growth of the cancer cells.

The big doubt in the mind of the people is that whether they will suffer from pain once the cancer cells invade their organs. As in case of mesothelioma cancer the cancer cells grow at the lungs, abdomen and heart and people may suffer from pains and aches at these areas even before the diagnosis. The pleural area is highly connected with nerves and once the tumor grows it incurs a huge pain.

Of course some may not experience pain at the early stage of the growth of the mesothelioma but still it need be necessarily a spreading option for the cancer cells but still more concentration should be done to the area of infection. Obviously once the people experience the pain they do consult the physician to get rid of the pain. Not in all cases the pain might be relived and hence a proper diagnosis should be done in the areas to detect the availability of the cancer cells.

This is the last and matured stage of the cancer cells in the human body and it can be even proclaimed that the cancer cell controls the entire functionality of the body. Unfortunately patient who have been diagnosed at this stage have no option of curing the cancer cells in the human body and even doctors never recommend any option of healing the cancer cells as it is just a mere waste of money and moreover it puts the patients to more sufferings.

Hence the doctors treat the caner in such way that it increases the life expectancy rate of the patients and keeping them away from the pain incurring due the maturity stage of the cancer. Of course chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be used over the victims to prevent the cancer from spreading. The other alternative treatment options available are the acupuncture, massage and spiritual and emotional assistance may also be more helpful at this stage of cancers.
